Through 6 design exercises, I learned about visual expression and communication, as well as the tools and building blocks needed to create visual experiences.

Going into this course, I already had a lot of experience with (digital) design, having designed for both print- and online media for quite some years. However, all of my knowledge was self-taught so I had little idea of the underlying principles on why a certain design looked good.

This course taught me some much-needed design theory (such as the Gestalt principles), introduced me to new tools (such as Adobe Illustrator), and taught me new ways of working with existing tools (such as creating photorealistic renderings in Adobe Photoshop). It also taught me to spend a lot of care and attention on presentation and detailing. Make sure your posters are hanging straight!
