Within this very first design course I got introduced to the theory and experience of running a design process. Together with a great project group, we created Climate: a device for on your keychain allows you to indicate your opinion on the current (building) climate around you. By combining the votes of multiple people, public spaces can become more comfortable places.
This project made me realise what my present strengths and weaknesses were, and enthused me for the different phases and skills within the design process. I stayed mostly within my comfort zone, focusing on branding, poster design, and – a first for me – video production.
For skills outside my comfort zone, I couldn’t have had a better group to get started with. As some older students within our group had prototyping and brainstorming experience, I got to learn from watching them.
